ETHICAL GUIDELINES FOR LEADERS.
PASTORAL CODE OF ETHICS.
The Minister
is a Christian and a gentleman, but a gentleman may not be a Christian.
A Christian
must always be a gentleman.
The Church’s standards require
its members to avoid any activity that put the body of Christ to shame. Our
actions must promote harmony, show respect and have integrity.
This applies to actions both
within the church environment and in the community.
In all that we do within the
church and in the community, it is our practice to conduct our church business
affairs fairly, impartially, and in an ethical manner.
Ethical
Guidelines Or Principles To Be Followed By Leaders
Basically the following Ethical
Guidelines or Principles are set as some of the standards of qualification for
Pentecostal Revival Church Leaders. These Code of Ethics are also designed to
edify the body of Christ.
We pray that these Guidelines will be embraced by all pastors of our
church who are serving in the pastoral care or any administrative
responsibilities. These Ethics are intended to be a living document that will help to shape our character.
We believe they will definitely make our character better reflect Christ's will for us, as pastors in his church.
They will provide a framework for how people should make decisions and judgments, and how we should act on them.
It is in these Ethics that we find a basis for understanding the will of God.
As church leaders, we must submit ourselves to the Word of God and allow the Holy Spirit to guide us in the application of ethical principles of the Word of God.
Our Christian conduct must be based on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, and on the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
The New Testament calls for the highest standard of reputation, that is good biblical ethics for us as leaders.
Servants of God should endeavour to conduct their lives according to the following ministerial ethics.
Titus 1:6-9 NLT
6. An elder must live a blameless life. He must be faithful to his wife, and his children must be believers who don't have a reputation for being wild or rebellious.
7. A church leader is a manager of God's household, so he must live a blameless life. He must not be arrogant or quick-tempered; he must not be a heavy drinker, violent, or dishonest with money.
8. Rather, he must enjoy having guests in his home, and he must love what is good. He must live wisely and be just. He must live a devout and disciplined life.
9. He must have a strong belief in the trustworthy message he was taught; then he will be able to encourage others with wholesome teaching and show those who oppose it where they are wrong.
